Spirit of the sea is a purpose-built boat with a capacity for 97 passengers. It has also been equipped with a large glass bottom in both keels giving you the opportunity to experience life below the ocean wave. Seeing as the waters around the Canary Islands are not heavily fished there is a great diversity of cetaceans including pilot whales and bottle-nose dolphins as well as other other sea creatures, such as green turtles and flying fish.

You can choose between 2 and 3 hour trips. In the 3 hour trip we’ll stop at a sheltered bay for a swim. We are almost certain to sight dolphins. Should this not be the case, then all passengers will be given a free ticket to come back for another trip whenever they want. The ticket price also includes unlimited soft drinks. Snacks and beer are also available for purchase on board.

The most common sighting is of bottlenose dolphins, which live in small family groups of up to a dozen animals. These elegant creatures can reach speeds of 50km/h and on a really good day you might even get to see them feeding on shoals of mackerel or sardines. Other species sighted in these waters include striped dolphin, the rough-toothed dolphin while sightings of the common minke whale and the sperm whale have also been recorded.

The first option consists of a four hour cruise around the harbour of Gran Canaria and the surrounding coastline. Enjoy great views of the city’ skyline – see if you can spot the Cathedral, the Castle of San Cristobal and the picturesque fishermen’s quarter of La Laja. The port itself is pretty impressive, shipping from all over the world stop here and it is now one of the most important ports in the Atlantic. The second option is a five hour cruise towards the popular beach of Las Conteras. After leaving the harbour, we’ll sail past the dormant volcanoes at La Isleta and El Confital beach. Don’t forget your camera – there are some amazing views of the city skyline and the 5km stretch of white sands running from La Puntilla promontory to the brand new Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. Surfing lessons, Gran Canaria Have a great day out on the beach and learn to surf like a pro. Due to their location in the Atlantic the Canary Islands are Mecca for surfers from all over the world. You'll start by learning the theory and basics of surfing, learning how to catch waves faster and stay safe. Then once you've done with practising on dry land it's time to head for the ocean and hit the high point of day, surfing the Atlantic breakers on a pristine beach.<br /> <br /> The courses are designed for all levels of surfing prowess, for complete beginners, intermediate surfers as well as the most advanced. You can choose from 1, 2 and 3 day courses. All courses include hotel pick up and drop off and start with a safety briefing and theory class in the surfing school. Then we'll do some stretching on the beach before practising our moves on dry land. Next it's time for the first practical session in the water.<br /> <br /> After a picnic lunch we'll go back into the water for some more practice. The day will end as we view the photographs of you surfing the waves. Three different activities are available every day: the Surf Safari, where you will learn to ride the best waves (suitable for all abilities); Stand-up Paddle Surfing, a rapidly growing sport originating in Hawaii (no experience is necessary) and bodyboarding: great fun and a brilliant way to learn how to stand up on a surfboard.<br /> <br /> <strong>Meeting / Pick up point:</strong> Hotel pick-up.<br /> 6 hours.<br /> <strong>Start or opening time:</strong> 9.30am.<br /> <strong>End or closing time:</strong> 3.30pm.<br /> <strong>Languages:</strong> English, Spanish and German.<br /> <strong>Other information:</strong> All transfers and equipment included. This activity is not recommended if you have respiratory problems and / or cardiovascular disorders or physical mobility problems. A document confirming you have no health problems is required.<br /> <br /> To do the immersion, a valid diving license is required. There are different options available: Immersion, 1 day course, and Snorkelling. The equipment is included in all options except immersion (price to be paid directly to the supplier).

Sport Fishing

Sport Fishing, Gran CanariaThis marine excursion is available all year round. You will be taken out to sea aboard a fishing boat

From may through September on this marine excursion you will trawl for Tuna, Blue Marlin, Dorados etc. and if you go out on this marine excursion October through April you will be taken, bottom fishing for Sharks, Conger Eels, Rays etc.

Departure from the Puerto Rico dock at around 09:00h towards the local fishing grounds. Clients can choose between deep-sea (100 m-350 m deep) or surface fishing, for which equipment of the best American brands will be provided. Sandwiches and soft drinks will be served at noon. Sail back to the port to end trip at about 15:00h return to the different pick-up points.

Pirate Ship

Sailing Tour

Your marine excursion begins from the port in Puerto Rico and you head off for Puerto de Mogán, a small fishing village sometimes known as little Venice.

The boat is then turned about and moored up in the bay of Taurito, a nice secluded bay. On this marine excursion don't forget your swimming things because you spend some time here and you have the opportunity to enjoy the sea.

Ferry and Market

Dolphin Search Trip
