The Diocese Museum of Sacred Art (Museo Diocesano de Arte Sacro) is a museum dedicated to religion and religious art on Gran Canaria. The Diocese Museum of Sacred Art houses many religious works of art that date from as far back as the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The works housed by the Diocese Museum of Sacred Art include valuable sculptures and paintings and as you might expect gold and silverware. Once inside the Chapter House at the Diocese Museum of Sacred Art you will see an excellent example of a polychromatic mosaic.
The Diocese Museum of Sacred Art is located in the south wing of the
Santa Ana Cathedral in
Las Palmas in the "Patio de los Naranjos"
(orange tree courtyard) which is also found in the grounds of the Cathedral.
Entry to the Diocese Museum of Sacred Art is included with the entrance fee to the cathedral.
If you are going to Las Palmas for some sightseeing or shopping then while you are there the Diocese Museum of Sacred Art is well worth a visit.
